The people at Hanoi Guesthouse were very nice and always willing to help. The rooms were fairly clean...but rundown. And we basically froze because we thought there wasn't any heat in the building. That was the impression we got after asking the staff. Only after moving to a different place did we realize that the air conditioning unit may have also doubled as a heater. Never did find out if we slept like an ice cube for no reason. Not sure I would recommend this place. The staff was really nice. But, if you are looking for cleaner and more modern places...there was one right down the street (Prince Hanoi). Not sure about the area either. We walked around a little and found NOTHING to do. The place was like a cemetery at night. First time in Hanoi and went in early February (it was COLD when we went) so maybe those were the reasons.
