This is Shanghai City Central Youth Hostel located at the intersection of Wuning Lu and Zhongshan Bei Lu just three stops from Shanghai train station by Metro line 3 and close to Jingan Temple commercial district.It is a largest YH in Shanghai and there are 150 rooms in this New YH . It is a sister YH of Beijing city central youth hostel (which largest YH in Beijing ) and Shanghai Maggie`s Youth Hostel.

Sometimes the toilets could not flush. Please make sure that the toilets are always working. Otherwise, all was good at the hostel..

although the name would indicate otherwise, this place is not so near the city center. but thats about the only downside. its incredibly clean, secure, and has good facilities. the lounge area is nice, and the free breakfast is a nice touch as well. if you dont mind being outside the city center, this place is highly recommended.

This has to be the best hostel in Shanghai. It's very clean and lots of fun. They a huge common room where you can hang out. The staff are very helpful. Great location. Easy to get to by metro line 3, 3RMB and easy to get to Peoples Square. I have stayed at this hostel 4 times and I have a good experience each time. I will only stay at this hostel when I'm in Shanghai. Timothy USA

The men toilet room at downstair is quite stinky even it's looked clean.
Close to subway station which will get you anywhere in Shanghai. It appeared to operate as a standard hotel as well. There were several different groups of older chinese business persons throughout the week. The american breakfast was good, and the showers were hot. They played movies every night which was nice. The beds were hard, but this is pretty much standard in China. The only downside was that the internet was SLOOOOOOOW!
