well the hostel was really good apart from a goof up we had in the end which they had arranged for our tranfer to hat yai but in the end it got sorted out .. yet all was good and if we go back to phuket we would consider the hostel stongly for our stay ... nice atmosphere

I really liked this place. It wasn't very close to any beach, but all of the buses stopped right in front, so it was very easy to get to any beach you wanted to. They also have moped rentals and about a million DVDs for their excellent TV. It gets a bit hectic since it's in the center of the city. There's not much night life in the area, but it's still really nice.

Second floor is really noisy y you can't sleep. It's noisy cause when somebody walks, it moves the entire floor, bcause is wooden. A pity, the only bad thing!

I have stayed in many hostels before. Mostly in Europe, but also in Thailand. The Phuket Backpacker Hostel is without a doubt the best hostel that I have stayed at. My stay was longer than most of the people who were coming and going, I was there for 13 days. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The hostel is fairly new and is very charming. Everything is kept very clean, especially the bathrooms, and the layout of the building is really cool and convenient. The best part of the hostel for me was the little courtyard area in the middle outside. I got the chance to meet a lot of people out there and it is very comfortable and inviting. The location of the hostel is great also. Itt\'s right in the heart of Phuket Town, and the bus station is literally on the front doorstep. Money well spent and I would\'nt stay anwhere else in Phuket. A big THANK YOU to the owners and the staff. I had a greta time and look forward to coming back!
Just a great place to stay. For the price, one of the best I have experienced. I notice some people complain about the location - I don\'t understand this. Obviously, if it\'s in Phuket Town, then it\'s not going to be near the beach...look at a map, research and get a clue. The local bus service is outside the front door which is cheap and convenient. It\'s location gives a nice break from the resort crowd and everything that comes along with it.
