This was a scheme. The Minh Tan Hotel in Hanoi does not exist. We booked and phoned the hotel to arrange for a taxi pick-up at the airport. The taxi was there waiting for us but then took us to the Sunrise Hotel where someone told us the Minh Tan was fully booked so we will have to stay in that one. We insisted for them to take us to the one we have booked and after many argument with the gay at the hotel the taxi took us to the Minh Tan Hotel address and the hotel did not existed. Instead there was another one next door, Asia House Hotel saying that Minh Tan was the name of the company running both Asia House and Sunrise Hotel. So we looked for another hotel where to stay...

I feel very welcome at Minh tan Hotel Hotel. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a homely feel. The two rooms I saw during my stay were spacious, clean and well furnished with all the trimmings you would expect to find in a 4 or 5 star hotel. The breakfast was hearty and available whenever you wake up. Staffs are friendly, welcome and helpfull with the smiles always on their faces. I will definitely be visiting again!

I was quite shocked to see the owner Thai Le waiting for us downstairs when we first arrived. He was really friendly and even showed us the way to Hoan Kiem Lake which is really near. Location wise, it's not bad 2 mins walk to Hoan Kiem Lake and about 5 mins walk to Dong Xuan Night market. We felt safe to leave our stuff at the hotel when we went out as the people there are generally nice and Boss is there almost all the time. The hotel is slightly small with only 28 rooms. I liked the mattress and blanket which are very comfortable. The place is very clean and the toilet ensuite private has been pretty clean too, internet is very fast for free... As the place is small, the people here are like a small family i feel. Don't mind coming back again.

They put us in a different hotel, which was not nice. They gave our room away. All that was promised for the next day, did not happen (different hotel). We are not satisfied with the way we were treated.
