Itaka Hostel is located on a nice street where there are many bars and restaurants at night. The staff is happy to organise excursions and advise on things to do. Nice pool and clean rooms. Someone did get robbed while I was there so keep your stuff locked in a locker provided.

Maybe Itaka just doesn't fit my tastes but I thought it was to big and unpersonal. The surroundings were a bit monotonous. There was a crazy supermercado a half block away that's worth checking out, the Condorita or something like that. It stocks dusty groceries along with a collection of dead animals. The owner must be a taxidermist on the side. My favorite was the basset hound. Back to the hostel, I was there over xmas, just the regular party college age crowd, nothing unique...
Plenty of activities to do and the staff was very helpful in arranging everything we wanted for our group of 11. Close to tons of retaurants and bars and would definitely stay here again!
