Wasn't a hostel

Excellent staff. Steven(the owner) provided us with honest and helpful information. In an area filled with touts and "best friends", this hostel provided a fair price, comfortable setting and help to releave some of the stress.

We chose the hostel under the impression that it was close to the Yellow Mountain and that it was also in the town of Tangkok. It isnt near the mountain and its south of the town. You would need to pay for a taxi/bus to get to either of these places. This would have been ok if the staff at the time of our stay spoke even just a little english..they couldnt even tell us how to get to the mountain. We found it very difficult and because of this we didnt get the most out of this part of our trip. The hostel is really a local hotel, so if your looking for a more hostel type experience there must be a better place in the town near by that can arrange a bus to the mountain.

Steven tried to sell us a tour with a Chinese tour group designed to get us up on top of Huang Shan. When we arrived on top, we were told that we not only didn't have a place to stay, but we would have to pay more money to rent a tent if we wanted somewhere other than the floor to sleep. Of course, there was no chance to get our money back! Definitely false advertising. Beware!

This is not a youth hostel, it's a hotel with no atmosphere. I was very dissapointed when i arrived there although the hotel was very high quality for the price.
