This Hostel was in such a bad location to get to, it took me near 2 hrs to figure out how to get there after changing trains so many times. The first night I had no hot water and the man also charged me a $25 late fee even after I called to let him know I was running late! There is no charactor of fun at all and there are rules that apply, so you don't really feel free and comfortable. There are no elavators, so expect to carry your stuff

I couldn't figure out why the guy working the desk was so angry. He always seemed ready to explode and was clearly irritated with the simplest questions. This was unpleasant.

Great Location in East Village near Astor Pl. Subway Stop. No elevators, which is typical for NYC. So, no big deal. Very satisfied overall
