On 1st night of 4 nights reservation hostel over booked - i had no bed, had to pay $70 for hotel room which i had to find myself after 10pm, and got no compensation. Lockers cost $5 a day which it should say on website. Washrooms exceptionally small. People kept turning up in room that shouldn't have been there. Cooker didn't work. Staff very friendly and helpful though.

It's in Harlem, so a little colorful but the cleanest Hostel i've ever been to. No bedbugs, no rats, plus it's spacious. If you don't mind using the subway to get to downtown it's a great deal.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The showers weren't clean and in the restrooms were mouses.

Room wasn\'t really cleaned (found a joint) when we entered (though it was a private room). Location/price is OK, staff varied depending on the shift (sometimes it was rather a group of buddies who spend more time to themselves instead of hostel). We didn\'t get new sheets, although we stayed for 5 nights. They removed towels after 2 nights without providing new. We did however got a large room, and the location is OK, near an express metro and safe (even though in Harlem).

Bugs crawling places. Not enough clean sheets. Not enough locker space. Very unorganized. A person was sleeping in our room that wasn't even registered in the system--very sketchy. When we got there, even after placing a deposit through hostels.com, they were over-booked, so they helped us find another hostel. One right outside of Hell's Kitchen, which was full of earwig-looking roaches. YUCK!
