Set in a large and peaceful garden well away from traffic noise, but it is quite a long way out from the centre of town. Staff friendly. Room had character but it, along with the bathroom, was quite dirty. Bathroom had a water heater - after the 20 minute warm-up time, the water was hot but only a trickle. TV unreliable. Did not sample the food because of the dirt in the room and the grubby state of the menu.

The Shahar Palace is the jewel of Jaipur. The tranquility and friendlynes is a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the main centre. You are away from the city centre but it is only a short rickshaw ride and the feeling you get when you arrive there after a hectic day is well worth it.
