The architecture style of Alishan Youth Activity Center is the romantic European style with overall facilities and a spacious area. Here offers you 48 guestrooms and suites, conference rooms, Karaoke room, Youth cafeteria, etc.. When you arrive Chiayi Train Station, take Chiayi County Bus to Alishan ( bus time to Alishan：06:10、08:10、10:10、12:10、14:10; Running Time: almost 2.5hrs; Fare: NT$221) → Get off at "Youth Activity Center" Station ( Attention the reminder at LED. ) → Follow the left side of the road walk to Alishan Youth Activity Center (almost 40-50min).
Parking: Free parking is available.
Location: Located in Provincial Highway 18's 85.2 km.( ※You can see the amazing sunset in Alishan Youth Activity Center. But if you want go to see Alishan sunrise. The Local Shuttle Service is cost NT$500 or walk almost for two hours.)
Rail: 1.Take Taiwan Railway to Chiayi Train Station→ trans Chiayi County Bus to Alishan 2.Take Taiwan High Speed Rail to Chiayi station→ Exit 2→ take Chiayi BRT Express Bus to Chiayi Train Station (Frequency: every 20 min; Running Time: almost 30 min; Fare: Free ) → walk underpass to front station → trans Chiayi County Bus to Alishan.

Well i think that Alishan YAC is a little bit far away from the town center which makes traveling quite a pain especially when you want to see sun rise in the morning. It could probably take up to 2-3 hours in walking + train to Yushan. I'm glad they've upgraded my room making a mixed dormitory into a big single room. They serve excellent complimentary breakfast as well. If you like to see sea of cloud in the evening, you can do so just right outside the hostel at erwanping. Vyane, from Singapore ~ 21st Jan 2013
