DESCRIPTION
Summer Hostels is the premiere destination for fun, affordable accommodations during the Festival. We have three buildings in downtown Edinburgh - check out our Facebook page for photographs and discounts to see which location is right for you!
Nestled in the beautiful neighborhood of Old Town in the heart of downtown Edinburgh, Cowgate is in the middle of it all. You�ll never be more than 5 minutes walking distance to wherever you�d like to go. The building is a short walk from Waverly Station and right in the middle of all the pubs, restaurants, and boutiques.
Stylishly furnished with modern finishings, all of the room options are ensuite (private bathroom for each room). There are rooms with single beds for one person and 3/4 double beds for 2 people. Each flat has free internet (by ethernet; not compatible with wireless devices), a fully stocked gourmet kitchen, and a spacious living & dining area with a flat screen TV. The building has an elevator, 24-hour reception, bike storage, coin-operated laundry facilities, and a 11am check-out time.
Check-out time is 11am. We have 24-hour reception, but please notify us in advance if you have a late check-in after 10pm. Reservations can be adjusted or cancelled without penalty 7 days prior to your check-in date. Please note that no changes can be made within 7 days of your check-in date, as you will be responsible for the full cost of the reservation. Linens are provided free of charge, and towel rentals are available for �5. Storage lockers are available for free, but please remember to bring your own lock.
Cowgate is open from July 4th to August 31st.

The building is open from July 4th to August 31st this summer. All bedrooms are en suite, with a private bathroom containing a shower (no bath), sink, and toilet.
- Penthouse: a private, luxury 1-bed flat w/ private bathroom
- Studio: a private 1-bed flat with a private bathroom
- private bedroom (single): for 1 person, w/ private bathroom
- private bedroom (double): for 2 people, w/ private bathroom
- 4-bedroom flat: private flat w/ 4 bedrooms for up to 8 guests
- 6-bedroom flat: private flat w/ 6 bedrooms for up to 12 guests
he Edinburgh Festival Hostel offers top quality accommodation each year during the summer and Edinburgh Festival.
All rooms have an electronic door lock as well as private en suite bathroom and shower. Shared facilities include a brand new fully equipped kitchen, and bright and spacious living / dining area with flat screen TV. All room rates are inclusive of broadband internet. Other facilities are available on property including coin operated drinks vending machine, bicycle storage, and coin operated laundry. There is a lift in the building.
The common areas are equipped with : Microwave, Oven, Central Heating, Dish Washer, Toaster, Fridge/Freezer, Kettle, Iron, TV, Lift, Broadband* with ethernet cables
Broadband is provided by CableCom who will supply and maintain a 2mb internet connection to each room
Reception is open from 10am-4pm each day. We do accept credit cards on your arrival. Check in time is after 1pm, check out is 10am. The property is very suitable for Families. Animals: No animals are allowed on the premises with the exception of guide dogs. Fire Regulations: Guests are required to familiarise themselves and comply with all fire regulations and evacuation procedures at the propertyS. moking is not permitted in or around the property.

The location is great, the room was ok. It was a student dorm, so nothing special. The price was ridiculously high. When we arrived, they were overbooked! Fortunately, there as room available in the company\'s other dorm (Beaverbank Hostel), so we could stay there for the night and then move back on the second night. But Beaverbank is several miles from downtown.
