Mario was really nice, he was totally understanding about arriving later then scheduled and even offered to pick us up from the train station. The room was perfect - very clean, with fun frescoes painted on the ceiling. The street we were on was not very charming, and a little dirty - but it worked great for us seeing as we were using Florence as a place to stay to go on daytrips into Tuscany, so the close proximity to the train station was key.
