Mirandas House is a touristic establishment on a house full of history, with a tasteful decoration, and located in one of the most symbolic villages of Portugal, Grândola, 1hour from Lisbon and 15 minutes from the golden beaches of the Alentejo Coast.
Mirandas House is the ideal place for relaxing weekends or vacations, in a mixed environment of countryside and beach. At just a few kilometers from our house, you will be surrounded by uncommonly beautiful natural scenery and easy access to the great beaches along the Alentejo Coast.
Our House is situated in Grândola, a village of Alentejo, with its large undulating plains and with cork trees, olive trees, pine and palm trees, vineyards or cactuses, it\'s all here.
Mirandas House has four rooms, each with its own atmosphere which we like to refer as \'personality\'. Toilets that will take you back to when there was all the time in the world for personal grooming, a dinning room where you can take your time and enjoy your breakfast and the leisure room from whose windows there is a delightful view to a garden that should not be missed.
This house was built in 1939, by a wealthy farmer from Grândola, despite the difficulties that inevitably reached Portugal with the coming of the Second World War.
Here he lived and raised a family, enjoying with simplicity and pride the comfort, well being and beauty he created. Other descendants lived here, had their children and went on their way.
Around 20 years ago the latest owners arrived. Portuguese people who had emigrated to France in the difficult 60's. They were searching for the house of their dreams so they could rest quietly. They found it and with them they brought a little touch of Provence in France. With sensibility and good taste, they restored and maintained this house.
Now it's our turn and for us, too, this is the house of our dreams. It came to us empty of objects but filled with soul and stories.
It has imposed it self on us and demanded our best. I think we've accomplished it.
We are a family of three, my son Pedro, me Helena and Vitor my husband. We were both born and raised in the big capital Lisboa, but have opposite roots, me from the south, Vitor from the north. Pedro is from Grândola and is a tender 16 years old who already accumulates knowledge from different regions of his country, mixes it with a young and cosmopolitan taste for Lisbon but chooses his home village. So do we.
