Avalon House is newly established property in tourist hub Thamel. It is bit quite place from crowd, offers 20 testfully sunny room with private bath and all the time hot and cold shower.

A nice roof top terrace provides an excellent views of Kathmandu as well as monkey temple to the west and snowy mountain to the north.Rooms have modern facilities like television, wifi and dust free carpet etc.

The hostel is a 5 minute walk to the busy Thamal area of Kathmandu. It, like all hotels in the country, suffers from power outages however it makes up for it with solar power to power most of the important parts of the building. Being so close to The busy area is good for those wanting to venture in however it is also great being far enough away to enjoy the quiet of the rooftop overlooking the Monkey Temple. The staff of this hostel was very helpful and kind. They gave us lots of info and didnt push us to buy their packages. There is internet and good breakfast. It wasnt right in downtown, but it wasnt noisy. No A/C. Cristobal, from Chile ~ 31st Aug 2012
