If you want a unique place to go try the Azores. They are a set of nine islands in the Atlantic Ocean and are part of Portugal. We stayed on Terciera for 3 years on the US military base but there are other places to stay. Go in late April, May, June and early July. Each island has its own speciality; eg. flowers, vegetables, cattle; that they specialize in growing. The people are very nice and if asked to go to their house for a meal it is very impolite to refuse. The best dish is beef alcatre. It serves about 2-3 people and is very good. Have fun.
