Enjoyed my time at HSH. Lots of opportunities to make friends, location, lockers in rooms, and the kitchen were big positives for me. Could definitely be a bit cleaner, but nothing that would keep me from staying there again. The free pub crawl on Thursdays is a blast, and if you don't mind doing a few hours of work in the hostel during the day you might get a free night's stay out of it!

AMAZING!. great location. staff very helpful and cool. It was lots of fun with a huge common room. security was good, lockers in each room and a giant safe at the front if you have something that needs extra safe keeping, no curfew, huge kitchen with everything. pretty clean and the character was awesome. old building. And edinburgh is amazing as well. I woudl definately recommend and Stay at this hostel again. cant wait to go back.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Had an awesome time on the FREE pub crawl!! Prime location! Security is good with large lockers for each guest. The internet was not working though which was a slight inconvenience. Well equipped kitchen and good character.

Great great great location! Right on the Royal Mile, walking distance to anything you need. The hostel itself was a little impersonal, but probably just because it's so big. The staff we interacted with was great, but we only saw them coming in or going out. Overall, a satisfying experience.
