Great hostel. Comfy beds and clean sheets/toilets (I was really impressed by the cleanliness of the hostel restrooms). Good location - short walk to central park and quick and easy on the subway to downtown. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely stay there again. Thehotel is only about a 2 minute walk from the subway, the staff was helpful, the room was clean. The shower however... not so much. it was okay but I still decided to skip the shower.... also the heater was kinda weird and their kept coming steam out of it and it whistling (not very nice when you wanna go to sleep...). Staff was not very friendly. Even a 'Hi' in the morning was too much. They also ask small fees for a lot of things that are regularly included in the room fee, e.g. stalling suitcases (2 dollar per suitcase), calling for a cab (10dollar!!!). Location is great and if you are just looking for a small room on a good location for a cheap price it's ok. But if you expect any service look further and pay a little bit more. We stayed at this hostel on 15th August 2011 and it was wonderful. It is located really near the subway on 96th st. but it is located quite out of the centre from where you want to go (time sq etc) but don't let that put you off. The hostel was pretty quiet but it was just what we needed as we were exhausted from travelling. The rooms are pretty luxurious especially the shower and bed.
