This was the best hostel I have ever been to. The place is so clean and it has good vibration. Zero, the manager, is so kind and he is doing a wonderful job. Congratulations for Koa Wood Hale. I will recommend it to everybody that intend to visit big island!

The hostel was small, comfortable, friendly and well located, but there isn't a lock on a single door there. While most are trustworthy, small things seemed to wander while I was there (CDs and phone chargers)

appers to have been recently renovated(and a good job at that)dorm Bedrooms are a little crowded with 5 beds ,four would realy be a better fit. but what the. pattio pleasent ( but you better like regahay.the kicthen living room is very nice no drinking at all

Wow! I had heard good things from other travelers, and it's all bang-on! It's quiet, safe & secure for a single female traveler, and only 3 blocks from the ocean and downtown Kona. The staff was super-friendly and always working on property improvement stuff, and the vibe was awesome. I wanna come back!

some of the staff seemed a bit standoffish, but who cares when they are that professional. The place was clean, safe feeling and i had a lot of respect for their efficiency. It was my first stay at any hostel, and it left a hell of an impression on me. Never knew what i was missing
