We were extremely annoyed to discover that the price shown on the website and confirmation email by Hostel World did not include the taxes which upon arrival at the hostel we were told either to pay or leave and this i will be making a formal complaint about.

The room was very small but the staff and location were good.

I stayed there with my fiance for one week and we had a pleasant stay. The staff was very helpfull. The internet is free if you bring your own laptop. The location is good. Not too far from downtown Manhattan or 125th street in Harlem. We will defenately stay there again and recommend it to others. You also get free towels and the bathrooms are very clean.
for a hostel, this is very good. we found the staff to be helpful and the rooms clean. we we're really worried about bed bugs but had absolutely no problems (neither did anyone else) with them, which is a big plus. the showers were clean and we never had a problem with hot water. the hostel is a little expensive but its quite a lot better than the rest so it balances out. as long as you remember is a hostel, not a hotel, you'll be in for a good stay.
The double rooms are extremely small and with old furniture. There is no space for one person and imagine for two.:(:( The staff is so unfriendly!!! The only positive thing is the location.
