Guangzhou Riverside International Youth Hostel is by the riverside of Pearl River and is on the opposite side of the former foreign quarters which is well preserved as it was where you can find a strong colonial sentiment.
Along the riverside, there are pubs and bars, restaurants, cafe and cultural and art area transformed from old factories. Front end of the hostel is facing the river with a view of well-known White Swan Hotel in a distance, amid in line of trees which adds colour to scenery. This is a place where past and presence meet whereby tranquillity and activities interchange.
Youth Hostel offer dormitories, twins, single, riverside en-suite, family rooms etc. Cafe, internet, conference room, self-catering kitchen, laundry, left luggage and travel services are available.

This hostel was a bit dirty and didn't have much soul, but if you're looking for a cheap, well located place to stay in Guangzhou, this is probably as good as it gets. The staff spoke fluent English and was pretty helpful, although not always very nice. Patrick, from Canada ~ 2nd Apr 2013
