The TAKAMA Guest House is a casual and reasonably priced accommodation perfect for backpackers.
Both dormitory and private rooms are available (breakfast not provided).
Meals are not provided but a kitchen is freely available for guests to use. Internet is available in the common space on each floor so guests can collect as much information as they need about their travel itinerary.
The TAKAMA Guest House is conveniently located close to Kintetsu Nara Station and many major tourist sites in the central Nara area. A day-trip to Horyu-ji Temple, Asuka and Yoshino area are also all possible options.
Visitors without reservations can be accommodated if there is a vacancy on the day.

A bit annoying to find with the loose directions. The owner spoke poor English but did have a map handy, so we found everything we asked for eventually. Nara is worth the visit. Justin, from Canada ~ 14th Aug 2012

The owner was very friendly, but he barely knew any English. And although it was obvious I couldn\'t speak Japanese, he explained all the house rules and facilities in rapid Japanese. Also, the directions to the hostel on their site is wrong and very confusing. I eventually had 2 workers from a bus station find the hostel on their smartphones and were kind enough to escort me all the way to the hostel. Sarah, from USA ~ 7th Aug 2012
