This is the only hostel in downtown Philadelphia and the only hostel that has a 24-hour reception desk with no lockout and no curfew.

We're located in the heart of Philadelphia's old city in center city, less than 3 blocks from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, and just around the corner from the 2nd Street/Penn's landing subway station as well as some of Philly's best pubs, nightclubs and restaurants. We are chartered as a resource for students and foreign travelers. Due to our limited amount of space, we require that upon check-in each guest must provide a valid foreign passport. US residents must present both a valid out-of-state student ID and government-issued ID showing that you live outside a 100-mile radius of Philadelphia. US residents without valid student identification will not be permitted to check into the hostel and will be charged as a no show for blocking a bed.

You must be 18 years of age or older unless accompanied by a parent or a school-appointed chaperone. Children under 8 years of age are not permitted in our dorm rooms, no exceptions.

There is a 14-day maximum stay for all of our guests.

We are affiliated with Hostelling International, so while a membership is not required if you have a student ID or a foreign passport, you will need to pay a $3 fee per night if you are not a member.

It should also be noted that you are not viewing the Apple Hostels website, but that of a booking agency.

If you're a man and woman traveling together you should know that we have a Couples-only (mixed) dorm room that we don't always list on this site. If the two of you have each booked a bed in male and female dorm rooms, email us right away so to see if there's availability to be moved over to it.

Men are not permitted in the mixed dorm room unless traveling with women. Women are always permitted in the mixed dorm room.

The hostel is located in Philadelphia's safest neighbourhood, steps away from Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Visitor's Center, the subway, and we're surrounded by a myriad of restaurants, pubs and nightclubs.
