That is hardly surprising the former French colony was settled in the early 18th century as a colonial enclave and it retains a mildly Gallic air superimposed on a typical Indian background.

La Maison Natura, provides a simple and comfort accommodation for Professionals, internship students, volunteers comes for organizational work, Authors, Poets, artists comes for gratitude, we provide accommodation on long term for residents and volunteers as well as for a short stay for visitors or guests. It is a wing of Natura foundations, a non profit social welfare organization works upon Education, Science, Culture develoment and youth empowerment. The ashram has 23 simply furnished rooms can host up to 45 residents and 12 guests at a moment. rooms has private bathrooms and WC. There is a self accessible kitchen where you can make vegetarian stuffs and enjoy a community dining.
There will be bi weekly housekeeping, and provision for fresh linen, towels, and toiletries. There is a public television for entertainment and prohibition on consuming liquor & smoking inside the premises and surrounding to maintain the peaceful atmosphere and friendliness with the neighborhood.
We are very close to many tourist locations and institutions. Aurobindo ashram, pondicherry rock beach (Promenade), Grand bazaar, bharathi and bharathidasan memorial museums, auroville, serenity beach are in a approachable distance. La maison natura is ideally located in a residential area just 800m from boulevard so one can peacefully enjoy the serenity and peace of the colonial town when they are here.
. There is no running hot water. Handy water heaters are available which you can request when you need. And there is no air conditioned rooms and all the rooms have enough fan and necessary needs, rest of that all the rooms are well furnished. We provide fresh linen and toiletries. There is always purified drinking water is available. WiFi is on round the clock and it is free of cost. We restrict smoking inside the room for a healthy atmosphere.
Smoking and consuming liquor are prohibited to maintain peace and friendliness to the neighbor. The latest closing time will be 12.00 midnight. At prior information about late check-in due to official reason to facilitate you to open the gate. There is a self accessible kitchen you can make only vegetarian stuffs, like juices, coffee, snacks, Breakfast etc., you can avail your food from kitchen and enjoy the community dining.

I very much enjoyed my stay...located just past ECR, I enjoyed the walks into town...the Ashram is wonderful, great fellow guests...I would only stay here if I returned to Pondicherry!! Denise, from USA ~ 7th Mar 2013
